THE MAKING OF TROOS

The making of Troos magazine began in late November 2017.  The previous ten months and the current month proved to be eventful – mildly put – and before I knew it, New Year’s Eve was only days away.  At that point, my celebration was contingent upon precise terms that, Lord willing, if I even made it to 11:59:59 p.m. On New Year’s Eve, I would run into the New Year without repeating the weariness of 2017, and according to colleagues, family, and friends, I wasn’t the only one feeling that way.  My stance was strong, and it had to be as a lot was at stake: my health, money, and overall peace of mind. And so I made a pact with myself, also known as a truce. The agreement simply stated that I would never have a year like 2017.  To ensure this, I would require myself to start focusing on things I love to do.  This was a million-dollar statement/idea with a ticket I could cash. Writing and television broadcast, specifically, are things I love and was a market I could tap into as an entrepreneur.  At that very moment, Troos was conceived.  Who knew? All along, I was pregnant. (Let the rumor stop at this statement, as it is only a metaphor.)  The work began soon after the idea was conceived, and now we are here.

Troos is a publication dedicated to spreading love, embracing culture, and having faith. We specifically seek to tell someone’s story in our featured front-page article, appease the eye of our readers through aesthetic photos, inspire your faith in God with heartfelt rhetoric, appreciate a variety of cultures unknown to most, and accessorize our life with color and bedazzled jewelry and accessories.  Our main focus revolves around faith and love. Whatever can get you through the night or keep you in a good mood all day, let the art and words in Troos be the push you need.

Troos is currently under the leadership of myself Casie Williams. I am a native of Richmond, VA, currently residing in Greensboro, NC.  I am a graduate of The University of North Carolina – Greensboro, where I earned a B.A. in Media Studies, aka journalism. I am a lover of all things arts and a huge sports fan.  In my lifetime, I think I’ve collected over 300 magazines, and one of my favorite hobbies is reading. I consider my relationship with Christ the most important thing because he guides me daily.  If I had any advice to give, I would leave you with this pondering thought:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding: in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”    Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version
